We have popular sites such as Yahoo Answers and Answerbag.com while also have niche-based Q &A sites. Although I did stumble across some sites that have accredited professionals answering your queries, I am yet to see a great looking site powered by accredited professionals and raved by the Media all at the same time. Instead of taking the usual approach of putting up a Q &A site, Mahalo.com took an integrated approach by making itself look like a Q &A supersite with some other things thrown in. Have you ever been asked a question by a random person on the street and wondered, “how did this guy ever make it so far in life without bumbling his way in to a wacky and mishap and impale himself on a spike?” Well, while that might be a once-in-a-while experience, going to Q&A sites is like meeting that guy 7 or 8 times a day, and as the day progresses he steadily becomes dumber. The success of a Q & A site depends on the targeted traffic it receives, the quality of questions asked and answered, the design and utility of the site and sometimes, focus on a niche. As a major deviation from the usual round-up of actual Q &A sites, I found a good case of a Q & A section ensconced in a rather authoritative site as a category – one of the other parts of the site Kidshealth.org from Nemours. Earlier, I did a review on a Q &A site called Minti which focuses on parenting alone.
